A Letter From the Golden Age

My Capstone Project called “A letter From the Golden Age”, is a historical vintage dressing cloth. The key idea for creating this project is the rebirth of retro and classic styles. I am merging the old with the new. Most evening dresses that we see today are made by beading, French embroidery, and machine embroidery. However, the dress in ancient style gives the feeling of elegance that is made by lace and shirring. In the 1920s, the Chinese craftsmen worked on laying on the surface, and most of the details were handmade. In this project, I am using embroidery to explore various techniques on organza. I want my work to bring viewers into a dreamy fragility and hazy feeling space filled with line and texture.
